Mailänderli – Christmas Biscuits

And here the recipe for the second batch of biscuits, Mailänderli.


250 gr Butter

250 gr Sugar

2 tbsp Vanilla sugar

500 gr Flour

2 eggs

the zest of 1 untreated lemon

some more flour to roll the dough

2 egg yokes to spread

Mix the butter till soft and foamy.

Add the sugar, the vanilla sugar, the eggs and  the lemon zest.

When you have a nice and even mix, slowly add the flour.

Keep mixing till you have a nice dough. Wrap it in foil and put in the fridge for 30-60 min.

Roll it out to 5-6 mm thickness with some flour. Use your favourites biscuit forms.

Spread them with the egg yokes and put in a preheated oven at 200°C for 10 minutes.

Let cool down and enjoy!
