Mezzeh evening – Baba Ganoush

Got a craving yesterday… mezzeh. So I bought the ingredients today. I must admit I did not do the bread myself in order to have dinner at a decent time. But we could buy some nice pitta bread. So here you are with recipe number 1, Baba Ganoush or Eggplants Caviar.

Ingredients:

1 big eggplant

4 garlic cloves (if you use fresh garlic please use only 2)

5 spoons Tahini (sesame paste)

juice of 1 lime

1/4 of teaspoon of black cumin (grated)

salt

olive oil

Cilantro

Harissa (or any other chill based spice mix, I even added some Shicimi Togarashi)

Put the eggplant in the oven at 200°C for about half an hour.

When done, peel the eggplant and cut in cubes.

Add the pressed garlic cloves and all other ingredients and put in a blender. You should get a nice creamy Baba Ganoush.

Serve with Olive oil and Pita Bread. Enjoy!
